What is TENEO?
TENEO is the Latin word meaning to grasp, hold or know.
The idea of holding or grasping can be used in two different ways, both apply to our mission:
1. Intellectually: We want to correctly grasp who God is and the universe He created.
2. Relationally: The better we understand God intellectually, the more passionately we can grasp Him relationally.
Mission Statement
Fostering diverse Christian dialogue to help people better know God and His universe through Scripture and reason.
Vision Statement
Uniting the Christian community through discussion, encouraging wisdom and introspection.

TENEO's Core Beliefs
God God is good, and the ex-nihilo creator and sustainer of all things. He knows all things, is present everywhere, and His power is without limit. He is without beginning nor end (Gen. 1:1; Ex. 3:14) Bible The Bible is a Divinely inspired, God-breathed revelation collection of books. Men moved by the Holy spirit recorded these words so that we might know reality as it was and is and how God has worked in and through the world to bring about redemption to the world (2 Pet. 1:19-21). Humanity Human beings are a special creation of God. We are created in His image and placed in this world to rule and care for it. The human is corrupt and sinful caused by the original sin of Adam. We are hopelessly separated from God apart from His divine grace and mercy (Rom. 5). Jesus Jesus is the Son of the Triune God. He is eternal and without beginning. He took on human flesh, born of a Virgin, and walked among us without Sin (John 1, Col. 1). Atonement Jesus was crucified on a cross for the sins of humanity. He became a curse so that by trusting in His righteousness, we can be in a right relationship with God (Gal. 5:13). Resurrection After crucifixion, the body of Jesus was laid in a tomb. On the third day, He physically rose from the dead and was seen by many witnesses. His bodily resurrection is the hope of all believers (1 Cor. 15). Judgment There will be a Last Day, an end of time for this world. God will judge the living and the dead and those who are covered by the Righteousness of Jesus will spend eternity with Him. Those who trusted on their own self-righteousness will be eternally separated from God (Rev 20:11-15). |
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. |
